Created back in 2002 by Aldebaran, Artefact then offered epic black metal influenced by major fathers of the genre from the 90s (Dissection, Emperor) and by classic anglo-saxon thrash and heavy metal.
That "first era" of the band lasted for 6 years, with 3 signed albums, "Son of Solstice" (2003), "Magic Spellcraft" (2006) and "Ruins (2008) on Rupture Music, and many, many gigs, until October 2008, when the line-up reached to the end of an era — Aldebaran and the rest of the band mutually decided to part ways, as the former wanted to continue with old-school style and the latter ambitionned to take their music to a higher, powerful, modern level.
After one year of creative studio work, Seb, Olwe, Fred, Alexis and Ranko built the songs which give birth to the new era of Artefact. No outside disruption, no compromise — what you will hear is exactly what the band wanted to create, without any armour, grim make-up or pointless concept. Only balls and notes.
