Aris Ziagos

Aris' sonic influence comes indirectly from his upbringing - the son of a Greek immigrant father and an Irish-American former belly dancing mother. A tapestry of sounds ranging from motown to the middle east helped shape Aris' musical landscape.
The Wall Street Journal describes Aris' music as "rock with big lyrical themes" and suggests similarities to Peter Gabriel.
In 2009 Aris released his first full length LP "The Storms". Incorporating elements of world sounds with pulsating rock guitars, intricately layered harmonies, lush strings and eclectic percussion, the album explores themes of love, loss, betrayal, spirituality and mortality, "The Storms" blends a variety of genres into its 11 tracks. Gathering an early following when rough mixes from the album leaked on to the radio in the Netherlands in 2008, several tracks from the album have also been featured in fashion campaigns by Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva including the album's first single "Still Falling".
Through grassroots distribution, social media, and word-of-mouth, Aris' has caught the attention and acclaim of Project Runway alumn, fashionistas, musicians, and TV personalities such as Stacy London (from TLC's "What Not to Wear").
Aris and his band have played landmark NYC venues such as Webster Hall, Santos Party House, The Bowery Electric, and The Bitter End. The tapestry of sound on record comes to new life when interpreted live by the four piece rock band. The same fire is also present when the band heads into the studio together to record.
Aris has just released his new album "Twilight Revival". The 15 track digital release blends modern rock and electronica with retro and world elements. The album features several guest vocalists including Models of the Runway winner Kalyn Hemphill. "Take My Breath Away", A promo single from the album was released in 2011, and the music video also features Kalyn Hemphill. A remix version of the video was released later in the year. The first official single from the album "Twilight" and it's accompanying video premiered January 2012.
