It’s not tidy music. It’s not about clean sounds, pop-polished tunes, or formulaic singles. It’s about rough-edges. Rugged backgrounds. Inventive melodies. It’s the sort of down-home music you expect to hear played on a back porch, or under an apple tree, by work-worn hands that never come quite clean. Aria Eaton and her band craft this home-spun material with all the traditional tools of the trade, as well as a few less-established musical notions like railroad spikes and six-penny nails.

Fronting a varying ensemble of seasoned musicians, Aria leads her band through a repertoire of songs that journeys through valleys of fear, over rugged peaks of troubled love, and back down to the ever-moving waters of hope.

It’s a topography that’s well known to all who live and love, and the traveler’s tales from those places are beautifully spun on Aria’s new EP, The Blackest Crow. So settle onto your back porch, pour yourself a glass of sweet tea, and enjoy the untidy tunes and age-old tales, sung by a sweet new voice.
