Created at the end of the year 99, ARCANIA was constituted by 3 13-year-old childhood friends sharing the same dream; a common future in music. Cyril, Gabriel and Guillaume recorded their first demos and played on their first stages, looking to spread their name for more than 4 years. But every dream has its end and Gabriel's tragic loss in 2003 sink the rest of the group brutally into adulthood. Gabriel was only 16 years old .The other members of ARCANIA will continue to pursue their dream nevertheless. Between 2004 and 2008, ARCANIA has respited to play and to compose with the aim of a first album which delays being recorded. Nevertheless, a maxi is born in 2004 and the underground criticism is unanimous about this first official effort, that's participates finally to make the band's name known to the public. Recorded in the Dome studio by David Potvin (Lyzanxia, one way miror, Phaze 1) and masterisé in Sweden in the Tailor Maid studio by Peter in Betou (Opeth, Enslaved, Dimmu borgir, Meshuggah etc.) ARCANIA gives on this album the result of 10 years from work, from frustrations and from anger. The band is now fixed in the present, mixing old school Thrash and progressive influences, ARCANIA's music is modern, melodious and filled with aggressiveness

Créé à la fin de l'année 99, ARCANIA est à l'époque constitué de 3 amis d'enfance âgés de 13 ans et partageant un même rêve ; celui d'un avenir en commun dans la musique. Cyril, Gabriel et Guillaume enregistrent leurs premières démos et jouent sur leurs premières scènes, cherchant par tous les moyens à faire connaître leur nom pendant plus de 4 ans. Seulement voilà, chaque rêve à nécessairement une fin et la perte tragique de Gabriel en 2003 fait entrer brutalement le reste du groupe dans l'âge adulte. Gabriel n'avait que 16 ans, ce qui reste d'ARCANIA continuera à poursuivre son rêve malgré tout. Entre 2004 et 2008, ARCANIA n'a de cesse de jouer et de composer en vue d'un premier album qui tarde à être enregistré. Pourtant, un maxi voit le jour en 2004 et la critique underground est unanime à l'écoute de ce premier effort officiel qui participe enfin à faire connaître le nom du groupe auprès d'un public d'initié. Pourtant, ce n'est que fin 2008 que le groupe est à nouveau au complet et pour de bon. L'enregistrement du premier album Sweet Angel Dust débute alors en février 2009 dix ans après la formation originale. Enregistré au Dome studio par David Potvin (Lyzanxia, one way miror, Phaze 1) et masterisé en Suède au Tailor Maid studio par Peter in de Betou (Opeth, Enslaved, Dimmu borgir, Meshuggah etc.) ARCANIA délivre sur cet album le résultat de 10ans de travail, de frustrations et de colère. Le groupe est désormais encré dans le présent, mélangeant Thrash old school et influences progressives, la musique d'ARCANIA est moderne, mélodieuse et emplie d'agressivité
