A Penny For Lane was formed in the heart of the Texas Panhandle, Amarillo, in September, 2005. We are a four-piece rock band; strongly inspired by the great musicians that broke the mold for astounding rock n' roll in the seventies. We are a true, old school blues-based / blow your socks off / modern rock / patriotic / tattooed / energetic rock band that loves good music, beautiful ladies, righteous rides, and one hell of a party.

We found that our music gravitates toward the inspirational bands such as Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Candlebox, Black Crowes, Led Zeppelin, and Alice in Chains. These bands had the nitty gritty sound that came from their Marshall Stacks, Les Pauls, Strats and talent.not from a studio that has the magic to make you sound good.

Our goal is to have a great show and make the crowd remember us, but at the same time have a killer night. Music is a lifetime goal of ours and it is something very dear to us. We like to portray this feeling in our shows. It's not unheard of for Toby to crowd surf, throw guitars, dance on tables, and even knock himself out falling off of tables, just to get right back up and finish the show. Not only do we get the crowd pumping with our sing-a-long cover songs, but we also try to write catchy lyrics and powerful riffs to drive our originals. Our original songs don't necessarily have something in common. we just try to write music that our audience can relate to and feel inspired by.

Due to the relocation of our former bass player, we have had a long road since our September name change in 2005. We have had the chance to play in some of the smallest dive bars in the Texas Panhandle to some of the bigger venues such as: The Amarillo Polk Street Block Party five years in row to winning the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Battle of the Bands and the Rolling Stone's "Got Milk" Battle. We were asked to play a USO tour and to open for the 80's hair band, "Winger", and the AC/DC tribute band, "Back in Black". Our band was also able to have a private showcase for two of the biggest record labels, Epic and Atlantic. The band has donated time to many local charities such as the Special Olympics, Make-A-Wish, Big Brothers/Sisters, BACA (Bikers against Child Abuse), and many more.

In the fall of 2006, we cut our debut CD "Come Together.Fly Away" in Houston, Texas under the influence of Aaron Morris Producer/Engineer of Tierra Studios.

In the summer of 2007 we toured the east coast to promote our music, and plan to hit the road again in the summer of 2008.

Look forward to our next CD in January 2009.
