What's been said:

"Award winning pianist Anne Lovett’s self-composed ‘Tokyo Rush’ follows and it’s a piece that would shine out brightly on a film score during a pivotal scene where your heart skips a beat. It’s powerfully emotional, packs a bruising punch to your soul, leaving a pleasurable ache."

"In performance Anne Lovett revels in the musicality of scores and improvisation. Her playing is passionate and elegant, with a bright, shimmering balance of sound that would make any piano come alive. She makes every piece of music sound modern, as fresh and alarming perhaps as the day it was composed.

She believes in the power of music to entertain, to transcend cultural boundaries, to inspire and enlighten. Anne Lovett's intention is to build bridges between popular, improvised and classical music. Most of all she wants music to be an entertaining journey, full of discoveries and surprises."

Anne started playing the piano at three years old and a couple of years later was already starting to write her own music. Luckily, it's improved quiet a lot since then.(!) Anne studied at the Paris Conservatoire and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London. While she studied classical piano under Hamish Milne at the Academy, she also had the opportunity to study jazz and improvised music as well as composition, (and met great friends too!).

Since then she has been broadcasted on several TV channels, including France 3 and Mezzo (in France) and on the radio France Musique (Radio France). She has filled concert halls of up to 2500 listeners in the past years and is now working on an album project to include mostly her own piano work and other arrangements.

She truly believes that a pianist can be an entertainer too, and that's what she is set to do.

Her new work "Raindrops On Mars" was awarded best UK composition at Music Aid 2007 and she was invited to perform the premiere of her newest work in Norway in May 2008!
