ANNASAY BIO

The new Annasay EP was released in October 2008, and was recorded at In Tune With the Arts studios in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Brad Lebakken and Annasay. The new Annasay album features five songs with huge hooks, incredibly catchy melodies, and lyrics that resonate with everyone. The songs "Headlines (We Are)" and "Rock Song Number Two" show the more energetic, edgy side of the band, while songs like "Winter Air", "What I Need is You", and "This is Love" show the more melodic side of Annasay. The new album combines the best parts of indie rock, blended with pop and rock styles to form a one of a kind album. You can hear influences as wide ranging as Paramore and Coldplay, to bands like Metro Station and Sigur Ros.

The band started out however under different influences. Originally starting with Brad Lebakken doing an acoustic project in 2006. The original project was more geared toward a Dashboard Confessional type of a sound. Soon Ron Kauffman would join with Brad and begin working on Brad's acoustic music. Ron added some electric guitar and helped in the college studio where they recorded Brad's solo album. The result was the self titled album under Brad Lebakken's name. After releasing the album Ron and Brad started playing the songs with a drummer named Dave Harris, and a Bass player (Jered Rabold) who was from Brad's previous band "Linus" (a screamo/punk band). The four started playing shows together and eventually wrote the 1st official Annasay album called "Conversations". This album was essentially a demo recording but still showed the catchiness, and talent of the bands songwriting abilities.

After the release of the "Conversations" album and a tour, Annasay joined up with David Santistevan who began playing electric guitar for the band. With Dave on electric guitar Brad ended up dropping his role as acoutic guitarist and started writing a new album geared toward electric guitar. Midway through writing the album Dave Santistevan began focusing more on his own music and left the band to do solo work.

After Dave Santistevan parted ways with the band Doug Heckman (formerly of the Rockstar Collective) joined to fill the electric guitar role. During this time Annasay finished writing and recording the new EP. In 2009 Annasay plans on writing more music and playing tons of shows with plans to record new music in the near future.
