The words have been used with permission from Scottish Academic Press. The song was first recorded in an a capella version by Anam Cara vocal trio (Judith Silver, Maggie Newlands, Angela Reith) on their first album, 'Anam Cara live at St George's' (2001), available from most digital outlets under the title 'I am tired'.

I am tired, and I a stranger
Lead thou me to the land of angels
For me it is time to go home
To the court of Christ
To the peace of heaven

Be a bright flame before me
Be a guiding star above me
Be a smooth path below me
Today, tonight and forever
