Biography ANDY LEE:
Andy Lee can play everything in electronic music, depending on club, people and atmosphere. The style of the music is all styles together in one thing, from minimal over techno and intelligent trance to house infuences and techhouse. The point is not how the sound meal is cooked: more important is how it's served to the user. He describes his style as ‚minimal hypnotic rhythm' which regardless of style all have his own unmistakable handwriting.
He started his DJ career in 1988 as DJ TALES. With this name he played until 1995 and after that as ANDY LEE at several national and international clubs.
After starting at club KU in Lippstadt he began to play in the hole German club scene especially in NRW but also in the rest of Germany and started trips to the clubs of Belgium, Yugoslavia, Spain, Netherlands, Romania and the USA. Some of the highlights in his now 20 years DJ career were gigs at Limelight in Brooklyn/ USA (1992), the Balmoral in Gent/Belgium (1994), the Pulverturm in Munich (1995), the Rumpeltänzchen Festival in Steinfurth/Germany (1997), the Love Parade in Berlin (1999/2000) – Terminal float, the Tetris Safari Festival in Nothern Ireland (2006), the Delahoya Festival in Cluj/Romania (2008).
A resident DJ, he played 1988 at KU in Lippstadt, 1994 und 1995 at Tribehouse in Neuss, 2000 at 1st Aid Club in Leverkusen, 2006 at Vinylbar in Frankfurt and from 2007 till now in the Afterburner@U60311, one of the most popular Afterhours in Frankfurt.
He met his first producer during a gig at Limelight in Brooklyn and released his first record Tales/Distortion, on the Label ‚ACA' in 1992. In the year 2002 he produced the Title: definition of existence, released on the Label, Sounds good' as a member of the Group X-centric. This Title is remixed by Yogi van Bellen is licensed by Global Underground in UK. After this he has made a long break in producing. In 2006 he met his studiopartner and producer Rob StrobE, prepare 2007 his own Label register and signed Robin Jacobs and Holger Flinsch. 2008 he opened his secound label namened playmusic productions for the deep, fluffy style of techno and signed a couple of briliant artists like Two_EM (Berlin), Mihai Popuviciu & Jay Bliss (Sibiu/Romania), Paddo (Frankfurt) and Lore (Herford).
