Andy grew up listening to 10,000 different albums. All the way from Jimmy Swaggart to Prince and
everything in between. It was nothing to go straight from Ozzy to Ralph Stanley, on his daddy's old turntable. BythetimehewasateenagerthenightswereendingwithhisbrotherMasonsittin'on
thecouchsingin'hisheartout,justhimalonewithhisguitar. ItalwaysamazedAndyofhowmuch could come out of a piece of wood and 6 strings. When Mason passed, he took his instrument of soul and learned a few chords. "I guess that's how I grieved," says Andy. "It was night after night of playing and singing until I noticed that it wasn't all about Mason anymore. It was about the music." Andy reunited Mason's old country gospel band 'God's Country' and filled in his spot. That road led him to playing rhythm guitar and singing harmony and lead with the blue grass group 'The Sullivans.' He says he learned more about the simple beauty of music with them during those few years than he could have learned anywhere else in a whole lifetime. Somewhere along the way with them, he signed a contract with RCA Records to sing country music. Since then, he's seen every major city and most every small town in the country with a 5 piece band looking at the back side of him. He says, "I love my job! I would never trade it! Here I am at 39 years young and I've been living my dream for most of my adult life, but when it comes down to it, the center of my music and the coreofmylifeisnotbasedonbighighdollarproductionsandhugesoundsystems. Thatneverhits hometome.I'mnotaddictedtoloudamplifiers. I'manaddicttopureandrawfeelingsthat'sas still and quiet as the wind! Throwing your heart out whether it's healthy or broken! Exposing a hurting soul! Bearing and giving it all with that ol' piece of wood and 6 strings! It's underwear on the couch, singing until daylight! It's vulnerability to yourself! It's vulnerability to your friends! It's vulnerability to a crowd of strangers! In short, it's all about bein' NAKED!"
