BIOGRAPHY:
The band Anavrin was established in August 1999, on the initiative of Damir (vocal) and Matej (drums). The other members have gradually joined them and nowadays, after some swaps, the cast is complete and the six band members are:
Matej Selan – the drums,
Anej Kocevar – the bass guitar,
Marko Lavric – the guitar,
Anže Hvale - the guitar,
Damir Lisica – the vocal,
Grega Nahtigal - keyboard, special effects (sampling, looping).
From the very beginning the bad has been driven by the desire to create authorial music, which was introduced to their close friends only after some months after the establishment of the band. Later the band performed throughout Slovenia. The positive feedback of the audience has increased the motivation for hard work, which yielded results in the success that followed.
In the beginning of 2003 the band faced a new challenge – the first album. The producers Matej Wolf (studio H30+, Kranj) and Drago Popovic (studio Garbage, Ljubljana) have encouraged the boys to »squeeze« their energy, which can be felt in all the 14 songs. The final product has convinced the responsible ones at the publishing house Nika Records, so they have selected the band to work with. Interestingly, the mastering of the CD was carried out in Sweden, with the same professionals, who work with the world-known bands: Rammstein, The Cardigans. The first album with the picturesque and refreshing name "Juice!", was the beginning of the breakthrough of the group into the music scene. In the first two weeks since the album was published the feedback was surprisingly good: in June 2004 the disc reached the 7th position on the music sales scales in Slovenia.
The promotion of the album was strengthened with the single and video spot »Mi Laze V Obraz«, directed by Jani Cerne. It is short, concise, and powerful, which is necessary for the first video to be. Its message is convincing and appropriate for today's world, as it clearly shows its rottenness. Video spot has been placed on the 1st position in the TV show Videospotnice (RTV SLO) from the very beginning.
The concert tour in Slovenia called »Juice!« followed and the second video spot »Pri filozofiji« was created, directed by Jani Cerne. Good feedback and the loyalty of the admirers have put the spot on the top of the music scale at »Nikoli ob desetih« (with Peter Poles on RTV SLO), and has stayed there for the outstanding ten weeks. It even won at VAL 202 in radio show »Popevka tedna«.
In the spring 2005 Anavrin took part in the festival of the middle-European music groups in Graz, Austria (Newcomer 2005). Out of 108 bands they were the fifth, according to the professional jury. Anej was awarded as the best bass guitar player of the festival.
In the fall 2005 Anavrin took the new challenge, to shoot the video spot in their own production for the single »Kot 2 otoka«. In spite of the low budget the video spot got the best feedback from the audience so far. It was also selected at MTV Adria for a two-month-long power-play. On VAL 202 the song was chosen as the hit-song of the week.
In the beginning of 2006 Anavrin started to prepare the new material in English language, which was presented for the first time at the festival Newcomer 2006 (Graz, Austria). Energy on the stage and the messages of the music works convinced the professional jury again and Anavrin took the 3rd award.
In the end of 2006 Anavrin accepted the invitation of the English producers (Ana Roca, Aaron Maguire in Duncan Sturrock) and set off to London. In the studio SAE engineering they recorded the first part of the disc, which indicates new guidelines in the development of the band with its sound. The powerful song »Better U« was visualised in a bit different style by the director Mirjam Hlastan. The song and the video spot »Better U« was presented to the foreign audience, as several concerts took place out of Slovenia (in Italy, Austria, Croatia, Greece). The special honour was paid to the band in June 2007, as they performed on the stage with the world-recognised music stars (Placebo, Queens of the Stone Age, Kaiser Chiefs) at the festival »Radar 2007« in Zagreb.
2008 was marked by the recording of the second disc in the studio »Guga recording« with the help of Sašo Gostincar and their own »Sick bastard« studio. The boys took the production in their own hands…

BIOGRAFIJA:
Skupina Anavrin je nastala avgusta 1999, in sicer na pobudo Damirja (vokal) in Mateja (bobni). Fantoma so se pocasi pridruzili se ostali clani, po nekaj zamenjavah je danes zasedba popolna in steje 6 clanov:

Ze od samega zacetka je skupino gnala predvsem zelja po ustvarjanju avtorske glasbe, ki so jo fantje ze po nekaj mesecih delovanja skupine predstavili ožjemu krogu prijateljev, kasneje pa je skupina nabirala (nujno) potrebno kilometrino po vsej Sloveniji. Dober odziv obcinstva je dal dodano motivacijo za trdno delo, ki se je kasneje tudi obrestovalo.
Zacetek leta 2003 je pripeljal skupino pred nov izziv - posneti prvenec. Producenta Matej Wolf in Drago Popovic (studio Garbage, Ljubljana) sta poskrbela, da so fantje celo leto "ozemali" svojo energijo, ki je vidna v vseh 14-ih skladbah. Koncni izdelek je tako preprical odgovorne pri zalozbi Nika Records, ki jih je vzela pod svoje okrilje. Kot zanimivost lahko povemo, da so mastering plosce opravili na Svedskem, v rokah istih strokovnjakov, ki sodelujejo s svetovno znanimi skupinami - Rammstein, The Cardigans. Prvenec, slikovito in osvezilno poimenovan "Juice!", je pomenil tudi zacetek preboja skupine na glasbeno sceno. V prvih dveh tednih od izida je album dosegel presenetljivo dober odziv, kar se je pokazalo na prodajnih lestvicah, saj so Anavrin s plosco Juice! dosegli 7. mesto najbolj prodajanih plosc v Sloveniji meseca junija 2004.
Promocijo albuma so podkrepili s singlom »Mi Laze V Obraz«, za katerega je posnet tudi videospot v reziji Janija Cerneta. Kratko, jedrnato in udarno, kar se za prvi singel tudi spodobi, prepricljiva pa je tudi njegova sporocilnost, primerna za cas v katerem zivimo, saj spretno razkriva pokvarjenost in laznivost danasnjega sveta. Videospot je od samega zacetka predvajanja zasedal 1. mesto v oddaji Videospotnice (RTV SLO).
Sledila je koncerta »Juice!« turneja po vsej Sloveniji in snemanje drugega videospota »Pri filozofiji«, ponovno z reziserjem Janijem Cernetom. Zvestoba oboževalcev je dvignila spot na sam vrh lestvice oddaje »Nikoli ob desetih« (s Petrom Polesom na RTV SLO), kjer tam zdrzal rekordnih 10 tednov, prav tako pa je na radijski postaji Val 202 zmagal v oddaji »Popevka tedna«.
Spomladi leta 2005 Anavrin sodeluje na festivalu srednje-evropskih glasbenih skupin v avstijskem Grazu (Newcomer 2005). Izmed 108 prijavljenih bendov, po mnenju strokovne zirije, skupina Anavrin zasede 5. mesto, Anej pa prejme nagrado za najboljsega basista celotnega festivala.
Jeseni 2005 se skupina loti povsem novega izziva, v lastni produkciji posneti videospot za single »Kot 2 otoka«. Kljub izjemno nizkemu proracunu je videospot pri poslušalcih dosegel najboljsi odziv do tedaj, prav tako se spot uvrsti v ozji izbor videospotov na MTV Adria in je imel dvomesecni power-play. Na Val-u 202 je bila pesem izbrana za popevko tedna.
V zacetku leta 2006 skupina zacne pripravljati nov material v angleskem jeziku, ki ga prvic predstavi na festivalu Newcomer 2006 (Graz, Avstrija). Energija na odru in sporocilnost skladb ponovno prepricata strokovno zirijo in tokrat Anavrin dosezejo 3. mesto.
Na povabilo angleskih producentov (Ana Roca, Aaron Maguire in Duncan Sturrock) se fantje proti koncu leta odpravijo v London. V studiu SAE engineering posnamejo prvi del ploscee, ki po svojem zvoku kaze na nove smernice v razvoju skupine. Udarno skladbo »Better U« v malce drugacnem slogu vizualizira reziserka Mirjam Hlastan. Zvrstilo se je nekaj koncertov izven meja Slovenije (Italija, Avstrija, Hrvaška, Grcija), tako da so skladbo in videospot »Better U« predstavili tudi tujemu obcinstvu. Se posebna cast je doletela skupino, ko so junija 2007 na istem odru nastopili v druzbi svetovno priznanih glasbenih zvezd (Placebo, Queens of the stone age, Kaiser Chiefs) na festivalu »Radar 2007« v Zagrebu.
Leto 2008 je bilo v znamenju snemanja preostanka druge plosce, ki je potekalo v »Guga recording« studiu ob pomoci Saša Gostincarja in v lastnem »Sick bastard« studiu. Produkcijo so fantje vzeli v svoje roke.
