Soulful keyboard songstress & dynamic performing artist Amy Clarke continues to receive positive industry attention, media coverage, and domestic & international exposure.

From Ultraworld to Burning Man, from The White House to The Viper Room, Amy Clarke has performed at some of the prestigious & infamous rooms in the country. Born to two schoolteachers in Silver Spring, MD, Amy took cues from her self-taught classical pianist father and was playing keys by 3. She trained to be a concert pianist for ten years while singing in church choirs, and was composing her own music by 14.
After winning multiple vocal arts & music competitions, she chose an academic scholarship to Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service to broaden her knowledge of global affairs. Amy took every opportunity there to create and shape music at grand pianos in hauntingly beautiful acoustics of historic campus chapels. Graduating with a Lifetime Membership in the M&B Dramatic Society, she performed at The Studio Theatre & other professional stages in DC, singing her original music only at full moon gatherings, local clubs, and underground house parties. As numerous trendsetting local & international DJs, producers, tastemakers and record labels (Doug Singer of NYC's Sunday Best, Holmes Ives of Perceptual/Ova/Bedrock, & Aaron Hedges of District of Corruption-DC/Berlin) discovered her talents, Amy was encouraged to move to New York & wider audiences in order to further her artistic development.

After heading north, Amy Clarke emerged on the downtown underground music scene in 2004, opening as an experimental synth keyboardist & vocalist at a resident series of DJ parties in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. She played extensively on the downtown circuit - from solo grand piano shows to electronic synth sets to a hybrid of both (Rose Live Music, Rockwood Music Hall, Bitter End, etc.) then independently produced and released her debut "After The Fall" EP in 2006 to rave reviews and notable acclaim. Amy's music has been featured on national, cable & internet TV; FM, Internet, & Sirius Satellite Radio; she has been interviewed on both TV and radio and played numerous high-profile gigs at top festivals and venues including SXSW, Burning Man, Burning Man Decompression, Playhouse Hollywood, The Viper Room, King King, The Red & The Black, The Bitter End & The House of Blues - Sunset Strip. Amy released the single "MARY (her story)", engineered by Sejo Navajas of the Vicious Licks & Kamikaze Red and co-produced with Steve Leavitt in Spring '09, received her 4th ASCAP Plus award in January 2010, and finishes her full-length A NEW WAY album project in Hollywood, CA, for a 2010 release, producing & recording both solo and in collaboration with select partners.

While primarily a solo artist, on occasion Amy enjoys experimenting live with guest musicians and occasionally produces music, mixed media, and arts events to benefit various environmental non-profits through her developing initiative GAIA GROVE (www.gaiagrove.org) which aims to benefit both local communities and the environment at large by helping heal the earth. Amy's label MAAT Music invokes an Egyptian goddess of truth, justice, divine order, balance, cosmic harmony, and healing, reflecting Amy's affinity for global culture, social/political activism, and modern day spirituality. Amy continues to compose, create, produce, perform, grow a sustainable base, plan eco-music tours, and make frequent trips into nature. Clarke has earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University (with a focus on Culture & Politics in International Affairs), and a certificate in Electronic Music Production from the SAE Institute of Technology. She is currently drawing in strategic alliances, grants, and sponsors for her international sustainable tour(s) in 2010 - 2012.

"A gifted musician with a lovely voice" - The Eclectic Collection: A Celebration of Women in Music
"When I first heard Amy sing 'From Here', I knew that she had arrived! It's brilliantly crafted, with a tag and melody that haunt you.The story draws you in immediately, gets to the tagline effortlessly at the end of each chorus, yet means something new each time.Amy has come into her own, with vocal stylings and dynamics that hold back just enough to keep you hanging on every word. This song has a very appropriate title, because to me, it defines a new phase of Amy as an artist, starting right 'From Here'." - Lorraine Ferro, Multi-Platinum Winning Songwriter, Songwriters Hall of Fame, National Academy of Popular Music
