Since its inception in 2004, The Americana Folk Festival (AFF) is a grassroots event continues to build an audience dedicated to better living and listening. With a quality-over-quantity approach often lost in bigger, corporate music events, AFF strives to create a sense of the back-porch "picking party", even amidst thousands of audience members.

Nestled within a private campground in one of Tennessee’s most beautiful state parks, music begins in the morning and continues on three stages throughout the day and into the night. Audience members can also stroll through a wooded village laden with folk and outsider artists, craftsman, and instrument builders. Fans can even participate in organized nature activities like hikes and bike rides or stumble upon various open jam sessions throughout the grounds.

Contrary to the event’s name, AFF isn't strictly an Americana or folk music festival, but a variation on a theme. With a vibe more Sundance than Merlefest, the event creates the place where diverse artists and fans gather to freely express their love for roots music.

"The masterminds behind the Americana Folk Festival have achieved a truly utopian, nostalgic vision.not bad for a Saturday in the park." Paste Magazine

"No other event manages to create the cozy, back porch feeling.even as AFF continues to grow in clout and following, nothing has yet to detract from the down-home, Southern feeling of a firefly-flecked evening. It's a gigantic picnic with your favorite strangers." (Nashville Lifestyles Magazine)

"Set in the bucolic hills of Middle Tennessee, the AFF is all about interaction-you're as likely to see audience members strumming guitars as the folks on stage.anyone who loves acoustic music will be certain to come away happy." Performing Songwriter Magazine

"Contrary to what typically happens at music festivals, it's not the thousands of fans that seem to enjoy AFF the most. It's the musicians." (The Tennessean)

"The guiding notion of the AFF turns the typical music-festival mentality inside-out.the audience benefits by getting performances from artists who are rested, refreshed and ready to rock (albeit acoustically)." Nashville Scene

"The fading feeling here is a good one. It is that same level of calm that settles in at the end of a downtown parade, or as you leave the fair." (Seth Avett, American Songwriter Magazine)
