Nina Courson and Vince Vice are both from Paris and they arrived in the UK in 2006 to start a band project that leaded them to form Altercation. Their first demo was recorded at Music City in New Cross and it included the songs Shallow, Souless City and Silence. They played their first gig at The Bull and Gate, Kentish Town and then went on to play in various small venues around London for the rest of the year. They have played at the Islington Academy in 2008 and ended this year with a gig in Paris at Sentier des Halles in December 2008, financed by Banana Castle Records 2008, financed by Banana Castle Records who have been involved in the recording and production of the new 'Dress Up EP'.
.
The year 2009 brought them a new rhythm section. They've finished recording the first EP which includes the songs London City and Love Suicide. They've been compared to Hole, Garbage and sometimes Nirvana but they haven't tried to fit in any musical style mixing their differents influences.
.
The band has shifted up a gear thanks to the musical chemistry within the new line up joined by Jimi H.D on the drums and Tom Solo on the bass. They now plan to finish and rearrange all songs for the coming out of their album by the end of 2012.
.
The Dress Up E.P is available on ITunes and all other major download sites.

DRESS UP E.P reviews
********************************************************************
'' This London based band fuse elements of rock, punk and grunge and on top of that Nina has this really sexy sounding voice. Altercation are certainly one of the best independent bands in London at the moment and this EP confirms it for me! '' Street Voice UK Magazine
.
'' Sultry and sassy 4AD-standard indie with a gallic twist. This pop punk band could be one to watch. '' NME/The Guardian
.
'' It is difficult to identify a suitable band to which you can justifiably compare Altercation. Though their set-up is clearly influenced by grunge standards like Nirvana and Hole, at times it is also possible to get the slightest hint of Blondie. The band's latest EP release, 'Dress Up' unites these contrasting elements, and the title track in particular is a rather beautiful rock ballad that leaves a lasting impression.'' Sailing Sound
.
''The highlight is Nina Courson's voice. The guitar is very fuzzy and overall there's a dark alternative vibe to the song.'' Black Velvet Magazine - London city single review
.
''This anglo-french band, ''Altercation'' is touching the land of fury with this Ep. They play like a modern version of some groups of the 4AD, have the feet planted in the 90 and their ace is Nina, the singer'' Rock Shock, Italian press
.
''This pop-punk-grunge foursome are interesting to listen to as they have a unique sound that makes them something to look out for in the future.'' Bubblegum Slut Zine
.
''Intrinsically Parisian, by way of Seattle's peculiar sonic sensibilities, they're undoubtedly one of the more exotic live acts to grace the stages of the grey old British capital right now.'' Bubblegum Slut Zine
