----------Oh yes, the infamous rock band bio, sometimes the first glimpse into the insight of the musicians trying to sell you something, right? This is also where we tell you how we are changing the face of rock with our new sound and transcending the “scene”, with our brand of face melting, powerful, mega-ultra groove riffage stuff. How we are the Ferrari of music and the saviors of all that is sacred in the underground. Well, those things are cool and all but, those things we are not. To be honest, we don’t even think of that kind of crap and laugh in hysterics when we read that stuff on other bands web sites.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------Almost Heroes is more like the car you bought with your hard earned money that you wouldn’t trade for anything. Like anyone else would know how to drive it considering that thing you have to do with the emergency brake and gear shift to get it to go in reverse. Perfect isn’t perfect anyway. But, ignore all that. It’s yours and freedom is just a key in the ignition away. Off you go, into the wild blue yonder.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------I am writing you this piece of award winning literature after the completion of our first full length album, Elegant Degradation. The product of over two years hard work and our second attempt at recording it, (the first didn’t make the cut). After all of this, we wouldn’t have it any other way. To live is to learn, so I’ve been told.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------Elegant Degradation is not just a collection of songs to us, but a story about a relationship between two people and everything that happens to them as “life” gets in the way, our little ambitious attempt at a concept album, instrumentals and all. This is the part where the nerds rejoice and the meatheads ridicule. I’ll wait as your respective tribe acts out his or her inner feelings……………done? Good. On we go.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------I would say that not having a formula is our formula to songwriting. What ever happens, we are willing to explore. Maybe it’s not that efficient all the time but, as long as we have a sanguine look on our faces we can pull it off. If it doesn’t excite us, it doesn’t stay. This album is everything that “stayed”. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------I suppose that it is the job of the band to make the listener not aware of the exertion put into the said piece. To make it flow effortlessly into your ears and turn into the soundtrack of the moment you now live in. To become one of the countless classics that shaped and molded your perspective on life. After all, we can’t listen to our record for the first time. Bands have to see it in the eyes of the listener, if they even care about that kind of thing. I like to think that we do. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------Writing songs can actually be kind of like waking up in the morning and trying to remember that dream you had last night. What does it mean and was that it? Why was I wearing a football helmet in the bathtub while my dog was reading me the mail? Oh,…………. not you?, Well, never mind. I guess it’s different for everyone. We have been attending the never ending battle of songwriting since 2001 and still haven’t figured it out. Maybe we shouldn’t have slept in class so much…… Oh well, it was still worth it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------So, “Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears.”, and give us a listen. We may be that new band that you fall in love with that has actually been around a lot longer than you think. Come out to a show and enjoy yourself or put on the headphones and just daydream.
