I have been singing and performing as far back as I can remember. Picked up instruments when I was a little kid and stared taking lessons when I was 8. Started recording at 15, and now I'm singing, writing, I'm a saxophonist, a flautist and pianist.

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, I played music all through school and when I got to college (CSU Long Beach) I studied under renowned saxophonist Leo Potts and that was one of the best decisions I ever made. Studying under Leo was one of the most humbling, scary, and inspiring experiences in my life and he is a very dear friend of mine. I have toured and/or had the honor of sharing the stage with KRS-One, Del the Funky Homosapien, Digital Underground, Pharcyde, Lyrics Born, Lateef the Truth Speaker, Knobody, Zac Hendrix, Zion-I, Devin the Dude and The Coughee Brothaz, Brother Ali (just to name a few). I'm currently singing and playing with Special Opps, led by celebrated composer Christopher Opperman (www.myspace.com/chrisopperman), as well as the Serendipity Project (www.myspace.com/serendipityproject), a Santa Cruz based hip-hop group.

My most recent work has been with Orange County based AKA Records (www.myspace.com/akarecords), Teflon and Serendipity Project (www.myspace.com/serendipityproject), check 'em out. The music I create myself and with the amazing people I work with has characteristics of multiple genres and a vast array of influences, for myself the most notable influences are my two grandfathers, both jazz instrumentalists, and my Momma, whose lullabies are of my first memories in experimenting with music and harmony.

"I, personally, believe in an art as it exists in the context of the phrase "thou art God". In this phrase art is the word that connects the individual (thou) to their higher self (God) or to that which is universal. Using such a standard, most emcees might become embarassed." -D'Angelo-
