My name is Alisha Dixon and I'm a singer/songwriter who also plays a bit of guitar, drums , and bass from Manahawkin, NJ & currently living in Boston. I've been singing for about 11 years and writing music for about 5. Writing, for me, is probably the best thing to happen to my music career. It's such an outlet for the tumultuous time early on in my life. I used to only sing other people's music, but no matter how relevant the songs were to my life they were never as personal as the originals I've compiled thus far. I've sung locally for most of my life in small things, never really able to get the credibility from bands as a front woman. Then I earned a spot in the Hollywood rounds in Season 7 of American Idol, and became increasingly popular with my peers. But it was all a little too late, I had already moved on.anticipating my new endeavor of moving to the city of Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. While there, I quickly realized that my "calling," so to speak, was rock music. I wanted nothing more than to get up on a stage and kill a show. So, I put out a bunch of advertisements for a new band and wound up with my favorite group of people at school, who later became.Same Mistake Twice.

Be on the lookout for more up and coming shows in Boston and when we set out on our tour of the country in the summer of 2009. I write the lyrics and some of the music for our band's original songs and sing lead vocals. I also have around 20 original songs of my own composition from my pre-band days.

Okay, so I might also have a small obsession with auditioning for American Idol. LOL.
