I came down to London from Glasgow in the nineties, must have been something I'd niaively heard about the streets of London being paved with Gold. Sure enough the streets or rather the London Underground was as I began my musical journey as a busker. Pretty soon I was earning more money than any previous job I had done.

I started to gig at the 12 Bar Club, Troubadour and all the acoustic singer

songwriter venues. I remember we were considered positively unhip around that time. Little did they know and soon several hundred of us visionary geniuses were to prove them wrong, although I'm sorry I don't remember James Blunt. I distinctly remember Friday night's gathered round in a huddle in the Troubadour, everyone imagining they were Bob Dylan back in the 60's playing this famous old venue. In the 12 Bar Club we would crush in and watch the cutaway from shoulders down - of this strangely designed but home from home club - of some poor singer. He most probably being ignored as my fellow buskers and the current crop of wannabe's compared notes.

Soon I started to record demoes and eventually caught the ear of a producer and then independent record label Forge records. Not long after that I left the streets and recorded my debut album 'Beautiful Lies'. My single was playlisted nationally on BBC Radio2 and I toured with Katie Melua and my story was featured in several newspapers including the Daily Mail.
