Alex Lorry was born on September 3rd 1985 in Hamburg. At the age of four he joined a music school for children and was thus first confronted with music. Following his first experiences with music Alex started to learn the piano which lead to his first band in 1997. Not being very happy in this first formation Alex soon joined the already existing Band "Ende Gelände".

In the years to come Alex started writing songs and most importantly developed his skills on the guitar which has now become his preferred instrument. By the end of 2001 "Ende Gelände" had regrouped and changed its name to "Patchwork". The newly formed Band featured Alex Lorry on vocals and lead guitars, Malte Ernsting on rhythm guitars, Sebastian Brockhaus on drums, David Höh on bass guitar, Christian Fleischer on piano, organ and Saxophone and Runa Schäfer on backing vocals, acoustic guitars and percussions.

Mainly due to Alex Lorry's now well developed song writing skills the bands reputation grew rapidly and highlighted in the band being awarded the Bandnet Award 2004.

Sadly in 2005 due to musical indifferences "Patchwork" split up. After a short reunion of the remaining band members as "The Burning Bridges" Alex Lorry decided to concentrate on his solo career.

Since 2005 Alex Lorry has collaborated with several other local musicians, amongst others almost all former "Bridges" members

2006 lead to Alex Lorry's involvement in several Thalia Theatre Projects in Hamburg including the meeting point-project Esther Leben.

Alex Lorry's very productive start into 2007 include his reunion with former Patchwork drummer Sebastian Brockhaus and local bassist Patrick Mcgonagle joining him. In resent months Alex has spent a lot of time recording new material.
