ALESSIO BERLAFFA

Alessio first grabbed a guitar when he was 12 and started his carreer as a self-taught



musician, soon growing a passion for the great guitar heroes.(such as Eddie Van Halen,Paul



Gilbert, Steve Vai,among others)

Alessio began this way to build his technical and theoretical basis, and joined several



cover bands with which he had a considerable success in his area.Thanks to the influence of artists like George Benson and Robben Ford, Alessio



discovered the world of jazz and blues and started taking lessons from Valerio Annichiarico



(jazz player and Musicologist).With him, Alessio broadened his vision and his knowledge,



and strengthened the technique of his right hand, main feature of his style.

Alessio explored the world of rock-fusion and studied theory&harmony at the Musical



Accademy of Castellanza (MI), where nowadays he is a guitar teacher.He is also responsable



for the modern guitar class at the MPA in Robecchetto con Induno (near Milan).

Alessio is fascinated by luthiers and practices on modern instruments, meanwhile attending



several seminars with Joe Diorio, John Petrucci and Frank Gambale among the others, and



gathering fantastic experience with his many cover bands and with the metal band DOOMSWORD,



with which he plays on the stages of many countries in Europe, touring and



playing in big festivals including the Bang Your Head festival 2004 (Alice Cooper,



Queensryche, Dio, Iced Earth and Testament)and the Keep it true X 2008.

With Doomsword he has recorded the album My name will live on (Dragonheart 2007)



taking also care of the arrangements.



2009: For the sixth year in Doomsword he's recording the 5th album of the band that will be soon released.
