BIOGRAPHY:
Alessia Kay is an eclectic Italian Music Producer, Singer-Songwriter , Composer and Vocalist with Austrian-Egyptian origins (she lives in Rome bouncing from the US to the UK).
Her artistic background goes back to when, as a little kid (at the age of 4), she became a classical pianist and started singing (at the age of 12) in some gospel choirs of her hometown: Rome.
At the age of 5 she is artis.tically adopted by Cecilia De Dominicis, concert-performer and teacher at the "Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia", which allows her to play with "major" students.
Alessia continues her classical studies with concert-performer and composer Giovanni Zappalorto until she is 14.
Her artistic journey can very well be considered as a "progressive musical trip" going from new-age, acid jazz, soul, blues, rock-blues, to metal progressive, r n b, dance, house and electronic music. She is madly in love with melody and continues warming her vocal cords up with her one-and-only "voice tutor" Stefano Zanchetti. Alessia and her music seem to have become only one thing!
On top of her musical skills (piano and drums) and her amazing vocal expression, lies one of her best characteristics: her tangible passion, which shows in her dancing.
In 1993 the great experience into the dubbing universe, which takes her from cinema to cartoons , until she finally reaches dance and pop music productions.
14 years of intense work on music composition; hundreds of live performances in the most popular Italian and European clubs; her featuring in many music productions as vocalist and singer-songwriter (IT Dischitalia , Digit, Flying, Go Records, Blissco, and more); her working as vocalist/dubber for the movie U.S.D. (Uomini Senza Donne 1994 Sound Track by Sergio Cammariere); as singer in the tv industry (tv show "Sarabanda" 1998 - Italia Uno), has brought her to became one of the most interesting and wanted artists of the national and international musical scene, especially over the past six years, and also led her to the beginning of her career as producer (in 2005).
The interest of medias, music festivals, radio shows, djs, and fellow colleagues towards her is constantly growing. She has captured the attention of producers and labels in Italy as well as abroad. And the affection of her fans has increased just as much, feeding itself from her explosive energy and fascinating personality which are absolutely contagious.
In 2005 she also starts working with Maurizio Rocca and Claudio Cannizzaro (djs/producers from RDS - Italy's second largest radio station) singing, song-writing and co-producing house music; realizing the dance single "Cannyrock & Alessia Kay: Cube Ah" (between 2006 and 2007) released in the spring of 2008 by Jesse Saunders (Broken Records – Las Vegas - US.) . "Cube Ah" is featured and jumps to the top of US Djs charts: IDJPool, NE Record Pool, Starfleet, north West Dance etc.
In the fall of 2007 she works with Dj Stefy Energy (Bologna – Italy), performing and writing "Whisper" and co-writing "Love 's Gone Away" and "Feel The Music", included in Stefy's album "Music is my life" (Bliss.co Records) now successfully introduced in the European music industry.
On September 29th 2007, she brings her music to the US, performing in the San Francisco Love Fest, and in the most popular clubs in town, conquering US audience appreciation and affection.
In October 2008 a new successful release: "Partyland", co-produced with Frequencym ( great producers duo from New York) - Open Bar Records – New York, aired by many US, UK and Italian dance radio stations.
On May 14th 2009 she releases her single "Elixir Of Life" with Tendenzia Records – Milan - Italy (V.O.T.U. Voice of the Underground – Miami – FL), one her favourite songs she will include in the upcoming LP "The Saint and The Sinner". "Elixir Of Life" has already conquered the love of the audience all around the world and has been hosted in various international radio shows. In the spring of 2010, due to the incredible enthusiasm of her fans, "Elixir Of Life" is released again with further remixes and became Summer Dance Hit @ m2o Radio Station. (Alessia will include a special medley version in her LP).
In 2009 - 2010 Alessia produces her first solo Pop LP "THE SAINT AND THE SINNER" (out on July 2011) and creates her own record label (along with other 5 international producers) - WHIMSITUDE RECORDS .
Since her "jazzy" sound also includes some dance, house and electro waves, she presents 5 tracks, as album preview, at the Miami WMC 2010 during her live performances.
The positive feedback from colleagues and the general appreciation coming from her fans is an incredible satisfaction, considering this big professional challange: 11 very different songs whose vibes will definitely surprise you.
The whole album, except for 3 songs, (for which, just the arrangements, have been made with fellow collegues), has been entirely written, composed, mixed, played, arranged and produced by Alessia Kay
