Alease Walker is Bay Area born, but grew up in small gold mining town in Northern California known as Oroville “The City with a Heart of Gold”, and when you hear the gold in her voice, you’ll feel it through your whole body.

Like many great R&B singers, Alease began singing in the church choir at the age of 7. But it was at age 3, when she climbed to the roof of her house, mourning the loss of the family dog, when the first notes rang out and everyone realized she had raw talent. At the age of 13, Alease started writing her own songs. By 21, she began performing her own work at the local Blue’s Festival. Alease still performs at the Annual Oroville Blues Festival today, and was a smash hit at the Oroville Centennial Celebration. She works in collaboration with Back Door Studio, Hot One Recordz, and Jay-G Productions.

Alease Walker is a powerhouse vocalist that can change from R&B to Jazz to Blues to Hip Hop effortlessly. Best known for her raw talent and ability to move the crowd, whether it’s an up-beat tempo groove like Hey Baby or a heartfelt song like Teardrops and Damn You the bonus track that allows listeners to feel real heartache and the loss of Kevin Kimble, AKA Duce, a childhood friend and extended family member, that was taken to soon in a tragic murder on 2-25-06, in which she and some other friends were present. Duce’s murder inspired her to move forward with her music dreams as he himself had dreams of helping under privileged children and had inspired his own family to overcome many obstacles.

Her first CD Thee Introduction to Alease Walker is the type of CD you’ll find yourself needing more than one copy of, one for your car, one for the house and a backup, for when your best friend borrows it until they get their own. She writes all of her own music, and believes herself to be a ballet writer, there are no and never will be any curse words. Nobody wants to change the CD when Grandma walks in the house or rides in the car, she want her music to be acceptable for all ages and places. When writing Thee Introduction to Alease Walker she looked at today’s music and the music of yesteryear and decided to take it back old school writing songs with words that matter, not just the hook, but the whole message thru out the song, like Marvin Gaye, Let's Get it On or Denise Williams, Black Butterfly. Her songs come from her faith in God and strong family values.
