Agent 99 formed in the summer of 2000 when a group of college students at the University of Florida starting jamming together in their apartments. On June 15, 2000, the original lineup of Agent 99 debuted at Eddie C's Pub.

In 2004, the band released its debut album, "Two Night Stand". Agent 99 received national attention as a most added artist on the CMJ charts and soon had over 200 radio stations spinning the band's single, "At All". More national opportunities followed and highlights included appearances at the Atlantis Music Conference, The Florida Music Festival, Sun Fest, and opening slots for The Beach Boys, Joss Stone, Michael Tolcher, and Stroke 9.

Agent 99 called it quits in early 2006. The band played one last show on April 1, 2006 in its hometown of Gainesville, FL - where it all began.

Agent 99 had many lineups, but the band is most known for the lineup it had from July 2003 through April 2006, which included Michael Moskowitz (vocals/guitar), Chuck Rogers (bass), Jason Penner (lead guitar), and Drew Dedo (drums).

In May 2009, Agent 99 announced that it would be playing a reunion show in its hometown of Gainesville, FL on May 29, 2009.
