Adelina Ismajli (her surname is also spelled Ismaili) was born on December 14, 1979 in Pristina, Kosovo. She is one the most popular female Kosovo Albanian pop artists throughout Albania, Kosovo, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and in the ethnic Albanian villages in Montenegro, also known as Malësia.

Ismajli is best known for her controversial and politically charged songs and lyrics, including “Uragan Çohen Krenarët,” “Në Kosovë Luhet Kumorë,” and “Skenderbe.” She is also highly recognized as a sex symbol for her outrageous and sexually provocative videos and performances on Albanian local television stations. [1]

Ismajli’s records, including four chart-topping albums (100% Zeshkane, S'jam Sex Bombë and Prej Fillimit) have become instant successes and best sellers in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malësia, and in the Albanian diaspora [2].

In an early 2006 interview, Adelina dismissed claims that Albanian musicians had developed a habit of borrowing tunes from neighbouring Balkan languages, as is often the case across the region. In an outspoken appearance, she gave evidence that in cases where the Albanian melody matched that of the neighbouring version, it had mostly been the Albanian which was found original.

She also has a younger sister, Zanfina, who is a well-known singer. She was involved for a length of time romantically with Kosovo Police Officer Triumf Riza, a hero within the fledgling police force due to clashes with organized crime factions. Riza was ambushed and shot to death on August 30th, 2007, which reportedly sent Ismajli into a prolonged depression.

Adelina was crowned Miss Kosovo in 1997.[1]
