Although Adam Cunningham may not be what you expect to see when you look at a worship leader/ Christian artist, you can't confuse the message of his music. A bit unorthodox in his ways, Adam feels very strongly about his "back-to-the-basics" beliefs.
Cunningham grew up outside of Muscatine, Iowa, singing in his family's music ministry since the age of seven. Like so many, he went down his own path as a teenager and young adult, but God had bigger plans for him.
When their second son was born with a medical condition, Adam had a real "wake-up" call. "I had a pretty good job making more money than I thought possible for someone like me," says Adam. "But then, because of my son's condition, I realized my need for God; my dependency on Him was more evident than ever." After turning back to God, Cunningham also turned back to music.
"God gave me the ability to write and sing music. If my life is His, than so is my music," states Adam during the release of his self-titled debut in 2007.
You may remember Adam Cunningham from his worship leading on the Dove award winning "His Renown", Dove award nominated "The Word Alive", or even a featured piece on the 700Club. He has since helped many churches start contemporary services, new church plants, as well as helping lead worship as a guest worship leader across the Southeast. His first Project had two radio singles: "You Are My God", which enjoyed the top spot in major markets for a time, and "Don't Let Go", which continues to be an encouragement and inspiration to many.
Now, with the release of His sophomore project "What About Tonight" on August 30th, 2011, his first radio release, "You Made Me Your Own" speaks on the subject of adoption. It not only talks about the benefits of the adoptee and of the adopter, but how we all benefit from being adopted into God's family if we believe.

Cunningham signed a deal with Better Angels Music Group to release this album in early 2011. Rob Rappaport's Better Angels Muisc Group is a place that loves quality music and believes in the message of Adam's music.
"What I love about this project is that you are getting me, 100% Adam in all his imperfection and passion," says Cunningham. Very true, because Adam produced, engineered, and mixed the entire album before it was picked up by Better Angels.
"What About Tonight" , will be released nationally by Sony Red distribution August 30th of 2011. It is sure to be a favorite for music lovers and already fans of Adam Cunningham.
