Martin, Richard, Kerri, Mark and Craig are Absent Kid. Based in Colchester, Essex, they play an energetic brand of indie-pop.

The fledgling Absent Kid got their first break winning the Diesel U-Music Award for Best New Rock act and began receiving press, notably in the NME, Kerrang and on Drowned in Sound. The band released debut mini-album ‘I Burnt Down the Family Business’ through legendary North London indie label Fierce Panda. To support the album the band opened for the The Subways, Art Brut, Kasabian and Queen Adreena and featured on both MTV2 and Radio One, as well as recording a session for XFM.

Full length follow up 'Misadventure' was hailed as the bands finest work to date, combining crunching indie rock-riffs with dirty grooves and euphoric choruses.

Now AK are back for 2010 with a clutch of new songs and a mischievous glint in their collective eyes.

Alternatively it can now be downloaded from iTunes too!
