To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery, an album is being recorded for release in October 2008. The album will feature some of the great artists of black music, some legends from the past and some up and coming stars for the future.

Wayne Brown, renowned songwriter and producer,has been appointed as the producer for the project. He has brought together a wealth of talent to combine their varying styles to create a commemorative piece of music that will stand the test of time. Wayne is however quick to point out that this has been a collective effort and that the will to commemorate the great journey since abolition drives the project forward. As well as commemorating the abolition of the slave trade, we want to highlight the plight of millions around the world who are still victims of slavery in it's modern forms, in particular the cruel practice of human trafficking, which continues to devastate the lives of people on a daily and global basis.In light of this fact, proceeds from the album will go to the Save the children charity, who do some great work in this field and the Princes Trust.

Some of the UK artists involved include: , Billy Ocean, Ruby Turner, Junior, Roachford, Maria Lawson, Voices with Soul, Tasmin Archer, David Mensah, Brian Temba, Jag, Sumudu and from the US, Malina Moye and some other very special guests to be announced shortly. There is also the mouth watering prospect of these artists coming together for live concerts in 2008.
