1999 is when it started . . . the eight year journey of a 20 year fan of hip-hop to become one of the elite. He started the path to become one of the most lyrical and dynamic MC's in the industry, and in 2007, while still an independent artist himself, Mr. Spadez has created an album which showcases his struggle, his journey, and his perseverance. On April 20th, Abdul Spadez presents . . . Pittsburgh Subway

"I originally called the album Press Conference, then Promissory Note, that a lot of people have been waiting on, but I sort of kept holding back on releasing it because I didn't feel the album was really living up to my standards as a writer and musician. But after a few extra months in the studio and working with some of the people I have on this album, I felt the material was going to appeal to more people as a whole than the original version."

In the new frame of mind, Spadez also says the album goes way beyond just 17 songs and a title, but has a deeper meaning to him and everyone that will listen to the songs.

"In the end, what we all are as people are all walking, talking promises. We all promise that no matter what, we are going to grind, hustle, and drive ourselves to the absolute limit until we reach where we want to be in life. It's a promise no one else can make for us but us. Whether it's to be a scientist, politician, musician, CEO, if you dream it, it's your job as a living being to follow through. But it's also about the journey, and knowing of the environments you came from and grew out of, which is why when the title came to me I decided Pittsburgh Subway would be it, this album is going to motivate someone beyond the songs you here."

Pittsburgh Subway, the OFFICIAL debut album by Abdul Spadez, is what he considers to be a, "tell-all," album, which is something he thinks is what all artists thrive to make, but sometimes fall short.

"With this album, people are going to be able to get all the different spectrums, the fun Abdul Spadez, the deep Abdul Spadez, and the real Abdul Spadez. No matter what your favorite artist is on the radio, and no matter what style of music, they all have these three sides to them. The problem is sometimes they only get to show you one of those portions, but me, especially as an independent, I think it's important that I get to let people see all those sides all at once."

Along with that, he also explains the concept behind the title of his new album, which is set to be released in late April.

"This album is different for me because I took more time to dedicate to the sound and theme into this album. I wanted to make sure that I put a lot of energy into making this album as complete and universal in sound as I can, and the songs on it are going to show that. As an artist, I've grown immensely the past six years, which is why I want this album to be as 'perfect' as possible. s Anyone who has a dream, goal, or wants to get a dream of their own, this album is the one you need to listen to."

Pittsburgh Subway will be released this coming April via Street Rich Records and O.C.A.T.I. Management. It is slated to feature guest appearances from Kipp-E and Klyental, Ivory the Human Hustle, Divine Seven, and others.

This April, Abdul Spadez will do something most artists can't. . . sign on the line and follow through with his promise to live his dream until it's reached. . . and what a ride it will be.
