The Philosophy of AARON TODD.

For me, SOUL music is not just a style, like faded jeans and a sampled

fender rhodes electric piano. Like LOVE, SOUL is a frame of mind. IT is

the poetry that ignites the spirit and separates art from fluff. Balls

to bones, SOUL is the essential element that connects us all. So Come

on and hang with me for a minute and let's fall in love with music

again. Music inspired by something deeper than dollars and cents . . . Did

I hear a choir of kindred spirits say AMEN? lol). Who We Be. . . A

Brief History. I am an independent artist who makes soul and funk

recordings. At fifteen I was produced by Bobby Taylor, (legendary Motown producer

and former lead vocalist of the Vancouvers). By 17, I had worked and

played with the likes of Barry White, Chaka Khan, Chuckii Booker,

legendary producer/arrangers Jerry Peters and David Crawford, and members of

the Jacksons. As a performer and bandleader, I have shared the same

bill with artists like Meshell NdegeOcello, The Isley's, Squeeze, members

of Earth Wind and Fire, the Emotions and Billy Cobham to name a few. In

2007, fully formed, I make music from the soul, to honor the greats,

and to in turn do something great. FOR BOOKING: send an email with the

word BOOKING in the subject line. to: aaron_t33@yahoo.com Soul on

Sunset-- A while back, after discussing the state of the music industry with

some musician friends of mine, (some you may know like Rosie Gaines,

{formerly with Prince}, Tata Vega {The Color Purple, Stevie Wonder},

Frank McComb, and others), I realized that many people have forgotten why

music is so important. Music is more than just a quick way to a paycheck

for up and coming artists, or simple background noise for fans while

they drive. . . it is the soundtrack for our lives. . . Anyway, these

conversations quickly became something that needed to be captured and

shared with a larger audience, so Soul on Sunset-- was born. It is a uniqe

event recorded live before an audience (for later broadcast) that

opens up a conversation between great artists from the past and present so

they can tell their stories, and help to excite fans about soul music

all over again. I host the panels at a number of upscale Los Angeles

venues Wednesdays. This season we will be taking the show to the next

level so watch for upcoming events here. If you would like to host a

Soul on Sunset event at your LA area venue, send an email to:

aaron_t33@yahoo.com with HOST SOUL ON SUNSET in the subject area.

Enough words then. . .let's make music. ;-) In Soul T.

Thnk you for all you love -

Within two seconds, I was thinking Stevie Wonder and then I heard your lyrics "I Wonder". My response to that is.Yes, yes you do. You can "Wonder" better than Eddie Murphy because he imitated and you somehow made this your own. This comp is my favorite of yours to date and that's saying a lot because you have so many great contributions.

Bulerias

Awe man I am so jealous of your talents! You got it through and through man. Just a priviledge really to be able to communicate with you this way! This is top shelf, top notch and top of the pile for me man! I almost dropped that scratchy record thing on ohOhyeah! LOL

Nice nod to Steve Miller with your tongue planted firmly in your cheek! Awesome Track T!

MickD

Hooked from note one, Aaron!

Cool singing here and excellent production!

Enjoyed it!

KC

You Da Man T, you always present soul & funkyness, and quality production every time, your voice is splendid and the arrangement flawless, why can't I get to that level? Oh I forgot I'm Canadian LOL

But before hitting the "favourite" button, i'd like to point out that that the bass line kicks azz!!!

Love the Rhodes / Lesley speaker (or whatever that sound is) does NOT sound like it came out of a digital box. You've got some serious and seriously well-rounded chops here, a pleasure to listen. Bring on da fun!

Bob

" KISSED BY THE SUN".

OmniCell

Your voice is incredible and the music is urgent but give me dat voice (smile)!

LaMerci

Great intro as it builds. This is fantastic. Can't avoid the Living Color reference.or Seal. Lots of nooks and crannies full of interesting sounds. Smooth delivery, Aaron, and it has a good hook "kissed by the sun". The guitar is a rippingly-good addition. Perfectly bizarre outro! Dig it. Maybe double/fill the chorus sections "hello good morning" a little more full.but that's about it.

Has some Beatles moments, as well. Tune kicks a$$, T.

Frank

This is just plain beautiful. such a soulful performance, you'd want to have a wooden heart not to be moved by this music.

Feenix

Masterfully done, your vocal flavor added to this already stylish tune

Gives it a hole new dimension, the cord changes are the same but you

used a different syncopation, gave it a new face a todays grove

IREALLY LIKE IT.
