Ronald “Preach’’ McClure JR was born in San Francisco CA on August 10th 1987 to Ronald McClure SR and Latania Anthony. From the age of 10 Preach would always get into trouble and it never really effected his life until the age 12, and by then he was stealing and selling drugs. His older brother Jo-Bert “ Jo beezy Da Hottspitta” Hopkins was well into music and that’s what inspired him to pick up a pen and pad and write his 1st song. Preach fell in love with writing music, writing on anything he can find, beating and banging on everything, and to everybody else it was noise but to him it was music, like a key to another world, when he was listening to music nothing else mattered. By age 13 all his troubles caught up to him and he ended up going to the juvenile facility. While in juvenile hall he won a poetry contest and when he got out he would discover a way to transfer his heart felt street lyrics onto a cassette tape, he would take a playschool recorder, play the beat through a regular stereo and hold the mic from the recorder up to the stereo speaker and spit his flow. By learning to do that he started a group called “Mixed Up’’ with school friend, Dorian “ Diz 160 ” Thomas. Their 1st song was titled, “Mixed Up”,Which was a diss track to his brothers local group because they were always in competition. After that Preach would do more solo songs like fuck the world and Shaquilla. Preach would always do the opposite kind of songs that everybody else would, like songs about how him and his mother never got along and how his father was always in Prison, songs about his life and not the fantasy bling bling everyone else was.

Preach ended up going back to jail and by that time he knew he needed a change, so he gave his life to GOD and began preaching and doing gospel rap, that’s how he got the name Preach. By doing that his music career started flowing, he hooked up with a group called Big ballen and they figured out how to put their music on a cd, it was over after that, Preach wrote the most heart felt song of his career, “The Trial’’, that song would give anybody who heard it goose bumps and chills. He recorded the record and would be featured on his 1st mixtape titled, “Big Ballen vol 1.” Preach would record a few more songs and they would end up on his second mixtape, “Big Ballen vol 2,” which would be his last with the Big Ballen camp. He then would meet up with, “The Twins,” Two brothers inspired to be artist/producers. Preach would hang wit the twins and they would talk about music until thy finally wanted to build a studio, so the twins bought a computer and microphone from mutual friend, Emanuel “Moe” Cisneros and Preach would buy the recording program, from there they built a studio. By building the studio Preach came across a lot of inspired artist and they would build the group, “Blood line.” All the talent they had they would put together and create a mixtape titled, “BL vol 1” which also featured the new and improved version of The Trial, which featured, Rich Kid and K Reed. The group broke up and Preach would go back to juvenile hall, at this time he was the age of 15. When Preach was released he wasn’t doing gospel and he bumped into an elementary school friend who was doing music with a former member of Blood line, they ended up making a lot of music together which ended up in another group, “The Warriors.” While in The Warriors he ran into his old Mixed Up friend Diz 160, with him, Preach, KO, Shur Shot, and CB News, they was on there way to making a great team. Preach would record day and night nonstop, no sleep, they all would, until they came up with the Warriors Mixtape vol 1, which sold all over Fairfield, Suisun becoming a classic.

Preach wouldn’t stop there he would write and record no sleep no food jus going all night and day, he didn’t know what he was doing, but he knew he was building something great. Preach went back to jail and while he was there he finally figured out what he was doing, he was making a solo album, he would think to himself I’m not ready for one but something told him he was, he wouldn’t sleep in his cell trying figure out what he would name this album, until one cold late night he woke up out his sleep and the 1st thing that came to him was, A Thugs Testimony. When he returned home he told his group that he would be going solo and they agreed but before he did they released another mixtape, “The Warriors vol 2.” Preaches solo project was almost finished until a tragedy happened, June 12th 2004 his father was murdered in San Francisco, Preach was heart broken, he had a very good relationship with his father. Preach stopped recording and went down to Fresno CA for a little bit because he heard his grandma was sick so he went to help her out, and 3 months later another tragedy happened, September 9th 2004 his grandmother passed away. She had always told him to fallow his dream so in honor of her and his father’s death he created a spine chilling song called, “Song For The Dead.” His album was almost done with production from long time friends the Twins, himself , and Shur Shot, it was ready but then he broke up with his girlfriend, after that he created the smoove talking, love for a woman but pimping for a slut hit, No Love 4 Beezies, which topped off his album and it was finally finished. Preach needed the materials for putting this album together but he didn’t have the funds, so his older sister bought him the cd’s, the ink for the covers, and the jewel cases, u could tell she really believed in him, a lot of people did, but they didn’t want to invest their money.

After getting the right materials he finally put the album together burning up to 2,000 copies, giving 500 away and selling 1,500 which made him the top selling local artist in Fairfield, Suisun. That album was a classic, everybody played it and Preach was very so much proud of it. A little bit after the album dropped in the streets Preach went to jail once again which put him down for 16 months, 4 months in juvenile hall, 8 months in boot camp, and 4 months in county jail. While he was locked up he began writing music the whole time he was there. Once Preach was released November 19th of 2006, he was straight on going to jail for any crime, he kept writing, hooking up with local talent Taj-He-Spits who then introduced him to Brian who ran the Gas Chamber studio in Suisun, from there Preach recorded as much as possible and has been recording for the past year back to back songs. He’s now putting together his second album, “The New Testament” and his 1st solo mixtape, “The Ground Zero Mixtape vol 1 Hosted by Dj Oasis.” Preach has material to last him a lifetime, he’s been to award shows, on radio, video shoots, photo shoots, and many states promoting himself, his myspace page doesn’t get anything under 2,000 plays a day and he’s even started his own internet tv show, “Life Of The King.” Preach is now a household name and a local celebrity, but he’s recognized all over as THE KING OF THE FLATS…
