File Not Found

Danceable machine rhythm, catchy synth pop melodies and atmospheric coldwave songs like from the earlier 80's - that's significant for the German electro-new-wave duo FILE NOT FOUND.
The idea to start a project like File Not Found arised in the year 1997. First of
all Daniel and Martin use to exchange demo tapes of their first musical
experiments at their favourite club Melodrom. After a short time they realize being on the same musical wavelength and finally they decide to record a few songs.
Both guys have enough equipment and noise-making electronic toys to start some very funny home recording sessions in Daniel's living room 'Chaos Room'. Special sound experiments and strange electronic noises are recorded at Martin's home studio to be added to the songs.
Their first recorded songs are rather minimal (from these songs their side project 'we.' emerges). By-and-by they develope their musical style: melodic electro-sound, suitable for the dancefloor, with an 80's and minimal-electro touch. Daniel and Martin mainly use original vintage analog synthesizer made by Roland, ARP, Korg etc. Garnished with a pinch of C64- and Gameboy-Sounds and sounds from other noisy electronic toys their music gets the typical rough-edges-charm.
In 1999 they find a name for the project: FILE NOT FOUND. First prosperities come soon: many people dancing to their music at several clubs as well as renowned compilations featuring FNF-songs. Especially '67840 - You've got my number', 'Gimmicks' or 'Schwarz' provide crowded dancefloors till now
Finally in the year 2001 they release their first album 'Malfunction' produced completely on their own.
In November 2004 File Not Found have their first live experience as support of the Belgian industrial act 'Dive' at Kantine/Augsburg (Germany).
The second longplayer 'Division By Zero' is released on the Berlin record label 'Etoile Records' in 2005.
After several contributions to club compilations FILE NOT FOUND finally release their third album 'Impulse' on October 2nd 2009 on Voltage Controlled Records.
