On the 5th September 1996, Mike Hannides met Phil Kemish both aged 12 on their first day of school. They both shared a passion for music, and instantly became best friends. It was not long before we started a band, recruiting Mike's cousin Simon Vitsaides 13 and Mike's brother Anthony 9. We called ourselves Four of a Kind.

We spent the next few years performing at weddings, parties and just about anywhere that people would listen to us sing! Every evening after school we would get together to practise vocals around Mike playing the piano. We started to learn covers from Our main influences Boyz II Men, Michael Jackson and Backstreet Boys.

Over the next two years we worked hard developing our vocal abilities, our sound, while nurturing our song writing and image. The process wasn't easy; we had to go back to basics. For the duration of the summer holidays we would live together and run our own boot camps consisting of fitness regimes, choreography, polished performances and pushing ourselves to the limit in all areas.

A decision was made in 2003 us all to go full time, which meant giving up our education and making many sacrifices in order to follow our dreams. We started to practice 7 days a week. After 2 years of constant hard work and after going through so much together, our determination to become the best had made us more focused and brought us closer together. During this period the we spent a lot more time and effort developing our natural song writing ability, and adding more song to our catalogue. We now felt that we had developed our own unique style and sound.

We decided to apply for a Princes Trust business loan which would help us to put full time effort into band and also provide us with a solid platform to start our own business. We worked hard to put a business plan together and after seeing the talent and determination first hand the Princes Trust awarded us the loan we needed to start our own business.

To mark the new beginning, 4 of a Kind decided to re-brand to show the evolution of the band we then called ourselves 4Tune (meaning destiny). The name summed up who we were now and where we were going. The launch of 4Tune began in 2004;

In the summer of 2005 the opportunity to go on the largest UK talent show The X-Factor was to good an opportunity to miss and the hard worked paid off as we managed to reach the live stages beating over 75,000 contestants being the 1st male vocal group in the live rounds. Our mentor was Simon Cowell, whose advice and support was fantastic. In fact Simon was quoted on the program as saying the boys audition was one of the best he had ever seen. We had a fantastic experience performing in front of a weekly audience of over 13 million. We were on a high and were joint favourites to win the show.

Life has a funny way of bringing you back down to earth and against all odds and the views of all the pundits; we found ourselves in the bottom two acts in the second week. After the X-Factor experience was over we went straight in to the studio to work on new material to take on tour with us. For two years 4Tune we’re the highest booked group from the show building a big following performing to over 350,000 people Nationwide across Britain and Europe. This helped to build our fan base having over 25,000 registered users on our websites and receiving over 2 million unique hits on 4tuneworld.co.uk.

In 2007 we decided to take the year out to concentrate on the music. Using everything we had learnt over the years we invested money from our gigs in to our own home studio set up which allowed us to express themselves creatively writing over 40 songs as well as producing and arranging our strongest tracks to find our identity as a group.

After 12 years of hard work and sacrifice, we are now more focused, determined and passionate than ever. 4Tune feel they are ‘Ready To Go’….

God Bless
