4Mal is one of the most active and prolific musical alliances on the Russian dance scene of the recent years.Anton Guzev and Evgeny Svalov duet formed in 2002 and in 2005 made themselves known in the Western world of dance music. They were the first of all the Russian musicians to make their debut on the famous British label Baroque Records and release the single «Twilight» on vinyl. Since then the guys from Yekaterinburg keep surprising and making people happy with new dance music and achievements – abroad and in Russia as well.

To date they’ve created and released over 50 their own tracks and remixes, and many of which – on the leading world musical labels, in particular Global Underground, Baroque / Baroque Limited, New State / Maelstrom, Armind / Armada Music / Coldharbour, BeatFreak / Distinto, Alter Ego / Alter Ego Progressive / Amenta and Bellarine.

4Mal works were more than once supported in clubs, on the radio and in the compilations by such stars as Paul van Dyk, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Hernan Cattaneo, Armin van Buuren, Andy Moor, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, Steve Lawler, Matt Darey, Solarstone, Markus Schulz, David West, Desyn Masiello, MoShic and Deep Dish.

Paul van Dyk, having presented one of the new 4Mal tracks («Static Noise») in his radio show «VONYC Sessions» in 2007, made special mention live: «4Mal guys are always responsible for some very-very cool material».

Solarstone (Richard Mowatt) on Solaris International radioshow, July 17th, 2008: «Isn’t that a brilliant tune? 4Mal featuring Second Sky, the track is called „The Game“ and that is forthcoming on a brand new label called FlipCube, and if that track is anything to go by we should be expecting mighty big things from them this year!».

DJ 19 (Hiro Tanaka, Japan's leading DJ) describes 4Mal as «Russian melodic progressive genius».

They themselves best of all identify their musical style: it’s the deep emotional progressive house. Their music is melodious, catchy, fascinating. It’s the music for recreation, the music which you never get tired of, even after three hours on the dance floor to a 4Mal’s DJ set.

In Summer-2006 Markus Schulz was constantly rejoicing Ibiza guests with 4Mal & Matthew Adams collaboration track, when he included it in his CD «Ibiza ‘06», new perspectives opened before Anton and Evgeny. The guys received an invitation to open the catalog of a new British label «Amenta». Having skillfully combined progressive and tech house, 4Mal didn't miss it — the original version of «Static Noise» and remixes by Matt Rowan & Jaytech / Steve May received the all-around support.

In 2007 their creative efforts were particularly distinguished by musicians of the legendary British group Trafik. Specially for the release of their album «Club Trafikana» on the most authoritative label Global Underground Andrew and John invited 4Mal to remix their track «Salt In NYC». Continuation of the collaboration with Global Underground is to follow.

In the autumn of 2007 Anton and Evgeny received at once two large-scale offers to make remixes. One was from DJ number 1 in Russia, Ivan Rudyk (the club and radio hit «Things That Make You Feel» created by Rudyk in co-authorship with a talented resident of “Comedy Club”, Timur Rodriguez), and the second offer – from the only Russian DJ in the world top100 DJ list, Dmitry Almazov (Bobina, the club and radio hit, the official cover version of Kylie Minogue’s legendary song “Slow”). Both the Ekaterinburg duet’s remixes were released in long run in Russia, in the CIS and beyond the borders, and have already found the audience everywhere.

4Mal had a very dynamic beginning of 2009: the remix for Armind («Jose Amnesia feat. Jennifer Rene – Invincible»), then the remix for one of the best Japanese DJs, DJ 19 («Breakin’ Of The Dawn»).

Besides permanent studio works, in December 2006 the two musicians launched «4Mal DJ set». With 20 gigs in 2007 and already 120 in 2008, their schedule is getting tougher every year. 4Mal's club performance of today is always an event because they are musicians first of all and not only DJs.

To date 4Mal opened the nights for many electronic dance music stars, including Above & Beyond, Infected Mushroom, Seb Fontaine, Tomcraft, Dave Dresden, The Blizzard, Ronski Speed, King Roc, Sarah Main, Alexandra Prince, Syke 'N' Sugastarr, Jim Rivers, Rob Mooney, SL Curtiz, Add2Basket and Alex Kenji.

Every month the duet’s author program “FlipCube Sessions” is live on the Pure.FM radio station where Anton and Evgeny present colleagues’ tracks and their own new works that cannot be heard in clubs by everyone.
