3 pHaze

3 pHaze is a visual artist, music producer and founding member of MFchicago.



3pHaze provides visual eye candy as the VJ for Brobot www.brobot.com and Jagoff www.thejagoff.com and has held a VJ residency at Sonotheque www.sonotheque.org in Chicago where he supported DJ Warp http://centerstage.net/music/whoswho/DJWarp.html and Radiohiro http://www.radiohiro.com/ in their Bombay Beatbox show hosted by Six Degree records www.sixdegreesrecords.com and part of the Kollektive http://www.kollektivmusic.com/. 3pHaze has appeared on the Warped Tour on the Code of the Cutz tent, with Mark Farina at Crobar, and at many Burning Man related events hosted by Entheon http://entheonvillage.com/registration/ as well as being a regular visual arts performer at warehouse events including regular appearences at 660 W. Lake and Illmeasures. 3pHaze now curates the regular Saturday night audio/visual show at Subterranean at 2011 W. North in Wicker Park where you can see Chicago's first Hip Hop a/v show.



MFchicago is a group of friends - musicians, dj's, music producers and video artists - who collaborate in an organic fashion on various projects, including live music, video and art performances.



MFchicago resulted from a series of live electronic improvisational street performances by bLord and 3 pHaze during the summer of 2003. Street performance was the genesis of the community, the idea being that the street is the best venue for live improvisation and expression of new musical ideas because of the freedom it affords the performers.



Live street performance also turned out to be a magnet for attracting like-minded talented musicians and artists. MFchicago has now grown from two to over two dozen regular participants and an even greater network of associated friends, artists and collaborators.



People often ask us what MF means. It means whatever you want it to mean. Here are some examples: Mexican Funeral, Melting Fungus, Morticians Fun, Maybe Friday, Man Finger, Matthew Friedlander.
