Born in Zimbabwe, Africa Trevor Munangi was never a stranger to music. Raised by a manager father and entrepreneurial mother he was taken to music school at a young age of 6yrs, honing skills at the classical piano, violin, songwriting, music theory and story writing. This was a start in his career that no many people get and was no surprise that he would receive numerous awards at this young age for his talent and achievements. No doubt, music was for him.
After a family decision to move to the United Kingdom, a then a young school boy, Trevor decided to drop out of standard education and move on to a Music College to study sound engineering this introduced him to another lost youth by the name of Luke Bingham. These two found a mutual love for music and became inseparable in the studio, both passing their courses with flying colors the rest became history. By helping each other hone their talents at singing, song writing and poetry, production the pair wowed audiences in the college masses of over 2000.
Urban Music Festival
The 2005 Urban Music Festival was a big stepping stone for Trevor. By going to this event with friend Luke he would realise the potential to be something. Wowing audiences with songs he had created inspired him to press on as his music shared the stage and he rubbed shoulders with already established artists such as Donaeo, Roll Deep and Nolay. He then went back to the lab and continued producing and writing songs with and for young Luke as it was only a matter of time before they were ready to go public with their music.
Record Contract?
Deciding to go on Holiday back to Zimbabwe, he brought some of his music back to the country, then not realising the impact that it would make. Within a few weeks, he was on radio, television, newspapers and found himself in one of the country's largest record labels looking at a record contract. This then inspired him to then take this further and do music where he was based in the United Kingdom and put his all into it.
