The secondhandheroes are a modern rock band based out of Hattiesburg MS, in the southeastern United States.  Also known as 2hh, the secondhandheroes' sound is similar to bands such as Fuel, Lifehouse and 3 Doors Down, yet they bring their own original music and vocal style to the table. The band has recorded multiple albums, including the latest, the absence in me.  2hh has been on and off the road for over ten years, bringing their high impact show across the south. The band has an incredible history behind it already and big plans for the future.

Here is a little info about the band's past and future plans:

The secondhandheroes were created 10 years ago by singer/songwriter Jonathan Quigley from Meridian, MS.  Jonathan started writing music at a young age. The early years of the band were a huge learning process and struggle to find the right roster. Jonathan searched to find a group that could handle the sacrifices music brings and had the talent needed to make a difference. The band changed drastically over the first four years. It was hard to find musicians dedicated to original music.

In 2000, Jonathan started playing with Chuck Green, a local guitar player from Meridian. Green was an extremely talented rock guitarist who had a passion for making music. Jonathan and Chuck both wanted more out of life. Their dream was not just to play and write but to bring their music to the giant stages of this country and help people get lost in their own dreams. In 2002, Jonathan and Chuck hooked up with drummer Jonathan Hoffman at the University of Southern Mississippi. Hoffmann, an already accomplished drummer, brought a new sound to the band's mixes. It seemed after years of falling down; it was time to pick things back up.

During these pivotal years, the secondhandheroes worked tirelessly on their album the absence in me.  After many long hours of work, 2hh finally headed to Memphis, TN to record at Ardent Studios, along with bassist Allen Nobles.  All songs on the album were written by Jonathan Quigley, and most were produced by Quigley and Green.  A few of the songs on the album were engineered, produced, and mixed by Ardent Studio's own Jason Latshaw (Todd Agnew, Skillet, WOW Worship CD's).  Jason brought his great insight to the band's production and sound. The majority of the songs were mixed by Paul Lipinski at North Florida's elite recording studio Vision Sounds, owned by long time industry professional Scott Fravala.  In addition, the heroes had 747 Studio's Skidd Mills (B.B. King, Sister Hazel, Third Day, Saliva) mix one of the tracks. 

the absence in me is the follow up to 2hh's second album, behindclosedoors - Volume 2, which won them a top spot on the NBC pilot show The Shooting Star in the year 2000.  On The Shooting Star,  a talent competition for bands, secondhandheroes won over the judges with songs like Ms. Popularity and Comearound to earn the First Runner Up prize.  behindclosedoors also earned 2hh acclaim on broadjam.com — their song Freedom held the 1 spot in top category (World) for over three weeks straight.  All in all, behindclosedoors did very well and found it's way inside the hearts of thousands.

Recently, the secondhandheroes added even more talent to their band.  Guitarist Tyler Thomas and bassist Bobby Baldwin, from Stonewall and Meridian, MS respectively, joined ranks with Quigley, Green and Hoffman to give the heroes' their strongest lineup ever.  secondhandheroes considers itself a professional radio rock band waiting for their chance to break out. They certainly have the talent, dedication and work ethic to achieve this.  Over the years, 2hh has played hundreds of shows all over the southeast. The band has toured almost every southeastern conference school and many in between, always showcasing their original side at every possible time and blowing the roof off more fraternity and sorority parties than could be named.  They've recorded several albums, most notably behindclosedoors and the newest album the absence in me.  All this, at the same time as completely funding the band's equipment, legal documents, and recordings out of nothing but night after night of moving gig equipment in and out of a 6x12 trailer.  secondhandheroes is a band that has done, and will continue to do, whatever it takes to reach out with their music.

The secondhandheroes' new album, the absence in me, carries with it years of work and dedication in overcoming obstacles. Their hope for the album is that when you hear it, you can find yourself lost in it. Every band thinks their music is great. Every band dreams of success pushing them to the next level. The heroes believe that success is found in themselves and their passion for music.  This album is driven by emotion and a desire for so much more.  the absence in me gives you the secondhandheroes the way the band is meant to be heard.
