The Hollywood Killers originally formed in Hastings UK by singer/songwriter Jim Penfold but eventually the band relocated to London.



'Goodbye Suicide' (the second single) received many plays on John Peel's Radio 1 show.
The band soon built up a large fan base in London and the South of England gigging continuously. The Marquee, Hammersmith Palais, The Venue, The Lyceum, Dingwalls, Mean Fiddler, the Embassy Club, 100 Club etcthe band also recorded Radio 1 In Concert at the legendary Paris Theatre in Lower Regent St.



The Hollywood Killers have received acclaim from NME, Melody Maker, and Record Mirror. Jim Penfold has worked with various top producers in the pastTony Visconti (Bowie/T Rex), Mike Vernon (Bowie/Fleetwood Mac), Mike Hurst (Cat Stevens) and John Brand (Aztec Camera/Waterboys) amongst others



Jim Penfold has an established background for writing soundtracks for movies and television. He wrote 'Teenage Dream' for a short film of the same name, starring Jim, Jason Connery and an unknown Jack Dee.He wrote four songs for 'Cash in Hand' starring Richard E. Grant. More recently Jim is responsible for the title track for the 7 part TV series called 'Race To Dakar' starring Charley Boorman. The series also features the track 'Million Miles' (released in 2003).



The Million Miles CD is still available through www.hollywoodkillers.com (only £4.00), CDbaby and Amazon and features three tracks, 'Million Miles', 'What can Mary Tell You' and 'I Go To Sleep'. All the tracks are also available on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsode, and Msn Music.



In the last couple of years Jim and the band have been gigging and recording again. Nov 2006 saw the release of Timebomb (11 track CD).virtually a recording of the live set that year. Available at the same outlets as above. Nov 2007 saw the release of the digitally remastered single Hole In My Room plus extra tracks. Lots happening in 2008the release of new single Elizabethan Man (+ video). (If you ever visit the Globe Theatre in London, have a look at the drinking fountain which Jim modelled for.lifesize and lifelike!). A double album is also nearly finished.
