ONE GROOVE

Building on the success of their past but not willing to simply repeat it, One Groove asks you now to join “THE MOVEMENT”. Anticipation for this sophomore effort from the Hawaii-born but California Bay Area based band is not surprising given the success of their 2005 debut, “Make Your Move”, which landed two 1 hit radio singles and a spot in the 2008 Universal Pictures release, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall”. Even today, rarely a day goes by that you will not hear “Heartache” (KCCN FM100’s Top Single of 2005) or “Big Ship” spinning on Island radio.



Boasting 11 tracks of all-original music, “THE MOVEMENT” represents more than 4 years of creative blood, sweat and tears and showcases a marked growth for the “boys from the Bay”. One Groove’s musical direction continues to be firmly planted in the “Island Reggae” genre but pushes all boundaries and perceptions about what this style of music is “supposed” to be. What else would you expect from a group of young men born and raised in Hawaii but surrounded by the many influences of the vibrant San Francisco music scene? “THE MOVEMENT” is as much a reflection of One Groove’s urban adopted home as it is of their Hawaiian roots.



“THE MOVEMENT” was recorded in San Francisco and mixed, in part, at legendary Bay Area production facility Fantasy Studios whose exhaustive client list includes Carlos Santana, Aerosmith, and U2. All music on “THE MOVEMENT” composed and arranged by One Groove, a worthwhile note and another standout aspect which sets this band apart from the scores of other “produced” groups.



One Groove again sets the mark with “THE MOVEMENT” – 11 tracks of genre-bending island music. From roots to rock and everything in between, this is island reggae with mainstream sensibility.
