Jayson Walker

I've been singing since the age of 3. My Mum encouraged me and my brother to sing. My influences are; Michael Jackson, Prince, Terence Trent D'Arby, Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, Bjork, Sade, Seal and many more. There’s no one today in the modern genre of music that inspires me anymore. I started singing seriously at the age of 15. I believe in the power of music and the visual power of dance. They both work in harmony and do something to the mind. I prefer old R&B (70's, 80's and early 90's). There are very few R&B and Hip Hop artists that express themselves from the heart. Now it’s lost with very little hope of being found and when it is, it comes out of just one or two artists that go against the grain and think out of the box. I consider myself this way. The artists need to realise they’re fighting to create a new inventive sound or melody is the wrong way. We can't fight against it, it's just fighting against the unknown sound that can't hear us but we can hear it, if we allow ourselves to try. I always allow my feelings to follow the melody because the melody cannot follow our feelings. This is the way I've always wrote my melodies. To understand art we have to realise we ARE art.
