I don't know where this melancholic love for airports came from. It's all memories in pictures: Big windows filled with oceans of cyan, the sun like a 'huge white bone in the sky' and silver flying horses, galloping from cloud to cloud and leaving nothing but thin trails of rainbow smoke on their passing. And there's also this cosmopolitan charm, glamorous paint strokes, dancing around in soft Brazilian bossa-nova tunes: actresses hidden behind huge shades, straight-standing smooth-skinned gentlemen, fresh cherry lips girls in tight dresses, silver-tongued high-society con-men picking up cigarettes from silver cases. Martinis and cigarettes in the VIP lounge. Maybe there’s something in waiting and then flying away. And, on the other hand, the summers of our lives: Crystal azure waters, emerald lines across the horizon, quiet afternoons showered with cool breezes, shiny nights lost in colourful cocktails and moist body scents. And up there, it's fullmoon in August. Suddenly an airplane crosses the silver plate and never comes back. So, it all started 18 summers later. Well, sort of. After a late-teens breakdown and one of those bizarre road-movie experiences in summer 2002, Nicholas Gee and a diverse ensemble of musicians and friends gathered together to record (with the support of Team XaoS) the project later known as '18 Summers Later'. Unfortunately, it was a 'karma thing' that, ever since, no recording meet-ups would last longer than a working week's time per year! Thus, it was with great relief and delight when they all sat back in mid-2005 and exclaimed in tears 'God! It's over!' The album was distributed mainly to radio-stations in Greece. Track 'Augusto Moon (Remix)' enjoyed frequent airplay and turned into a hit on 'Best Radio', Athens.
