Born August 31, in Los Angeles, Califorinia and eventually moved to Gulfport, Mississippi where my music career started. My mother studied piano and music, and my father played guitar, so I grew up with a musical background. As a child I sang in the church choir, at school, talent shows, and community events. It was not until the age of 10 that I realized I could express through song and poem; so I began to write. After I was given the name Lil Redd in high school, I began doing more talent shows and was introduced to the stage and a bigger crowd that caused my fan base to increase. Since 1994, I have worked with several record companies such as G-Town Records, Infinity Entertainment, Big House Music, Dirty South Records, Game Tight Productions, Platinum Plus Productions, The Workshop, A&M Recordings, Flowjack Records, and It's So Hott Entertainment to name a few. I have also been an opening act for such artist as Scarface, D.J. Jubilee, Snoop Dogg, Lil Webbie, Lil Scrappy, PSC, Young Jeezy, Master P, Geto Boys, Pastor Troy, and Mystical, just to name a few.
Through-out trials and tribulations in my life, I took a break from the music industry. When I returned, I decided this time to pursue my music as a career; I had a different approach and also decided to change my name to 10 Karat. Unsatisfied with the things I went through, in 2002 I decided to take control of my music 100%. I combined my trades of cosmetology, professional make-up artist, and trendsetter, along with my skills to promote and market myself. 10 Karat's style of music is a way of life. My way of life!
In August 2005, I released the album GEORGIA-SIPPI MADAME (QUEEN of DA SOUTH) which sold over 6700 and still counting copies in the streets. In FEBRUARY 2007 , I released the album "MIX MUSIC MASSACRE" introducing my record label Lo Down Entertainment, and various artist & friends that I am helping to develop and pursue their dreams as well. Also the album I AM JUST A CHILD by artist YOUNG SNAP will drop TBA. In MARCH 2009, the album,"I AM HIP-HOP" WILL DROP FEATURING THE HIT SINGLE "REALLY MISS U", " U KNOW", and "STEP IT UP" feat. the whole LO DOWN ENT FAM. I also plan to one day open a art, dance, theatre,and music center to help youth with talent but no musical guidance or financial background get rounded with the music industry and the art of music and educate to career base themselves.
