DJ Tomo (045 Renaissance)

Tomo was born in Yokohama. He started his career as a club DJ mainly in his home town

in the early 1990s and participated in many DJ battles in the Kanto District. While working for Props, the legendary record shop in Yokohama in 1996, he met with Maccho who was a rapper of DS455 at that time. They formed Ozro Saurus that year and made a major debut with ‘Bay Blues’ in 1998. Then, Tomo moved into the reggae world and produced a series of hit songs such as ‘045 Style’ featuring YOYO-C and JUN4SHOT, ‘Rollin’ 045’, ‘VILI VILI’ and ‘Young Gunz’. He made the ‘Shock to the Future’ tour and the ‘Rollin’ 081’ tour all over Japan and enjoyed his reputation as a live artist. After that, he became a weekend resident DJ at Logos, the biggest club in Yokohama. He went over to America in 2004 and acted as a producer and DJ in Harlem, New York for two years. Since returning to Japan in 2006, he has been not only doing the DJ at Logos but also going ahead with a variety of projects including his own label Smack Recordings/045 Renaissance.

クラブDJとして、活動を始める。96年、横浜にあった伝説のレコード店PROPSで、

スタッフとして働いている時に、当時DS455のラッパーであったMACCHOと出会い

OZRO SAURUSを結成。98年に「BAY BLUES」でメジャーデビューし、その後レゲエ界

からYOYO-CとJUN4SHOTをフューチャーした「045 STYLE」や、「ROLLIN'045」、「VILI VILI」、「YOUNG GUNZ」など数々のヒット曲をプロデュースした。また、SHOCK TO THE FUTUREツアーや、全国を回ったROLLIN'081ツアーでもLIVE巧者ぶりを発揮。その後、横浜最大級クラブLOGOSの週末のレジデントDJを務め、2004年に渡米。2年間、ハーレムNYを拠点に制作、またDJとして活動し、2006年に帰国。再び横浜LOGOSの週末のレジデントDJに復帰し、同時に、自身のレーベルSMACK RECORDINGS/045 RENAISSANCEの様々なプロジェクトを現在進行中。
